DNPA Code of Ethics
Our Commitment
At Asia Herald Tribune, we believe in doing things the right way. Integrity is at the heart of everything we do, and we make sure our work follows all legal guidelines while staying fair and unbiased.
Ethical Practices in Business & Conduct
Gifts, Favors & Payments
We keep things transparent when it comes to business dealings, including gifts, favors, and entertainment. While small gestures of appreciation are okay, they should never influence decision-making.
- Gifts or favors should be modest and never look like a bribe.
- We don’t offer or accept payments that could compromise our independence.
- Business meals and small tokens (like calendars or pens) are acceptable, but they should never be expected or requested.
- Cash gifts or stock-based compensations are a strict no-go.
- If you’re unsure about anything, check with senior management first.
Avoiding Conflicts of Interest
We expect our team to always put the company’s best interests first. If there’s any situation—like an outside business investment or personal connection—that could create a conflict, it must be reported to management.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Keeping sensitive information safe is a priority. Employees should never share unpublished news, business strategies, or internal details without proper authorization. Misusing confidential information can lead to serious consequences.
Social Media Guidelines
We believe in responsible use of social media. Here are some simple rules to keep in mind:
- Think before you post. What you share online is public and can stay there forever.
- Speak for yourself. If you talk about Asia Herald Tribune, make it clear that your views are personal.
- Respect others. Don’t post anything offensive, misleading, or defamatory that could harm someone’s reputation.
- Be honest. If you get something wrong, own up to it and correct it.
- Follow the law. Respect copyright, privacy, and other legal requirements.
If you notice something inappropriate, report it to Human Resources. And don’t worry—there won’t be any backlash for speaking up.
Plagiarism & Fair Reporting
Plagiarism is a big no-no. Everything we publish must be original or properly credited.
Fairness is just as important. When covering a story, we make sure all sides are heard—especially if someone is being accused of something. Everyone deserves a chance to respond.
